Flute Choices

Crystal or Spark can give Ghost Pine, Ochrebark, or Rusted Oak; Acorn or Dew can give Cobalt Juniper, Elder Rosemary, or Wenge. Songs of Glimmerwick flute types depend on the full answer combination. Crystal, Acorn, Spark, and Dew are first-question choices, not finished flute names. Crystal – Pickled – Sea – 1000 gives Ghost Pine; the tables below use 1,000 years for the final answer unless noted.

Which Answers Give Each Flute?

Bristlecone asks about resonance, flavor, water sound, and time, in that order. The first answer alone does not determine your flute.

Bristlecone asks which of crystal, acorn, spark, and dew you most resonate with

Sea means “the crash of the sea,” Waterfall means “a roaring waterfall,” Rain means “pattering rain,” and Brook means “a babbling brook.” After selecting Crystal, Acorn, Spark, or Dew, choose one flavor and one water sound from the same row, then 1,000 years.

Which Time Answer Should You Use, and When Is the Flute Ready?

Use 1,000 years to match the complete combinations above. Whether One week produces the same flute is not confirmed yet.

1,000 years is a time answer, not a price. Bristlecone’s instruction to return in 1,000 years is a joke. He tells you to return after picking up your school supplies from town, to the east.

  1. Finish Bristlecone’s four questions using your chosen combination.
  2. Pick up your school supplies in town, to the east.
  3. Return to Bristlecone to collect your flute.

For Ghost Pine, the collection dialogue describes the finished flute as carved from ancient ghost pine.
